PTID Systems sends transactional SMS/text messages only after a person separately opts in to messaging for pet safety, tag scans, recovery coordination, and found or resolved status updates.
SMS/text consent is not required to buy a PTID tag, create an account, register a pet, report a found pet, share a find location, or use PTID Systems. A person can continue without checking the SMS consent box. Consent checkboxes are separate from the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and they are blank by default.
Messages are sent only to pet owners who voluntarily enter a phone number and check the optional SMS consent box during pet setup, and to finders who voluntarily enter a phone number and check the optional SMS consent box during a specific recovery event.
Consent is collected through an unchecked checkbox next to clear SMS language. Providing a phone number by itself does not opt a person in. The checkbox is separate from account creation, tag registration, purchase, privacy, and terms acceptance.
